The focus of Next Level Business Services, when it comes to growth, is to treat each customer seriously, invest heavily in the relationship and make it easy for clients to scale up.

“When we go in, we have always had this mindset of one customer at a time, with deep integration,” CEO Sachin Alug says. Its goal: To be among the top three of staffing suppliers at each client it serves.

Alug says the Alpharetta, Georgia-based company backs its plan with 1,200 recruiters around the world, a good talent pipeline and an expertise in technology.

“We make it very easy for our customers to scale up,” he says. “We are providing staff augmentation, but we are very good in certain technology domains.” Those domains include banking and finance, logistics, and oil and gas. It also operates in niche areas such as tax automation software, and it is looking to diversify into other sectors.

It is also working to update processes, aiming for increased effectiveness and efficiency.

“One of the things that we have done and continue to do is invest in AI and automation,” says Bhaskar Banerjee, president, Americas. It plans to use AI for sourcing, screening and building a community of talent. The company has been investing in AI for the past three years.

However, Next Level Business Services wasn’t always a staffing firm. Alug started the company just before the Great Recession in 2007 with plans to assist MBA grads in joining the workforce. Alug, whose background includes eight years at General Electric, was interested in helping that segment of the workforce.

Then the recession happened, and the company switched gears to focus on consulting.

Another change during its history: The company moved from Florida — where it was founded — to the Atlanta area to take advantage of its good connectivity and its status as a business hub.

“It’s kind of the Silicon Valley of the southeast,” Banerjee says.

Next Level Business Services also has a focus on diversity and is certified by the NMSDC. Banerjee says the company is exploring opportunities with colleges to launch upskilling programs aimed at minority communities. The company can’t name the universities at this time, but it is located in North Carolina and Arizona.

For the future, the company is focusing on new customers as well as controlling costs as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to inflict damage on the economy. It’s also looking at non-IT staffing opportunities, including in healthcare.

It’s naïve to try to predict the immediate future given the pandemic, Alug says. Still, moving forward, he says the company is well-capitalized and structured, preparing it for long-term growth.
